Bass Cabins

There are 13 meticulously maintained, fully furnished wooden cabins to choose from. Four cabins are perched atop Bass Mountain, overlooking the headwaters of the Delaware River and the Village of Hancock. Nine more cabins are located eight miles away, in French Woods, New York, dispersed throughout the French Woods Golf Resort. Pets are welcome at the cabins.

The Golf Course Private Lodges are available year-round for golfers, groups, cross-country skiers, snowmobilers, hikers, kayakers, canoeists, fisherman, and people who just want to enjoy the foliage and spectacular Catskill mountain views and enjoy the Delaware River. We offer Play and Stay packages, complete with unlimited golf with cart, breakfast, lunch, dinner for your entire stay and lodging.

Two of the Mountain Top Private Lodges overlook the East Branch of The Delaware while the other two Lodges overlook not only the village below, but both branches of the Delaware coming together to form the Delaware River which will flow through four states before ending its 351-mile journey to the Atlantic Ocean. The views are breathtaking any time of the time of year, but the Private Lodges are inaccessible in the winter months.

The Private Lodges on Bass Mountain are available from April through November, or until the weather closes the access road.

Eco-Friendly Notes

If the garbage left behind is separated we will take the recyclables to the proper facilities after guests leave.

Nature is left alone on both the French Woods Golf Course and Bass' Mountain top, so often guests awake to deer grazing, eagles flying overhead, or nesting geese by the ponds.

Locally or Family-Owned Business Notes

Bass Cabins are privately owned and operated by the Bass family. The family also operate the French Woods Golf and Country club, and the Hancock House Hotel, located in downtown Hancock, just an eight-minute drive from the cabins. They also own and operate Russell Bass and Sons Lumber Mill.

Accessibility Notes

Cabins have parking right outside, so you can pull straight up to them.  There are stairs entering the cabins.

Pet Friendly Notes

We are pet friendly!!

Seasons Open

The Mountaintop cabins close for the winter. The French Woods Golf Course cabins are open year round, but because they need to be plowed out if snow is heavy they may not be available.
