The Lakewood Lodge and Restaurant is nestled in the northern Poconos, near the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River. An historical landmark, the Lakewood Lodge was built to support the O&W Railroad during the 1940's, which was a double track rail system used to haul anthracite coal, ice and milk out of the region. Today, the rails are gone and the railroad bed is part of a 70 mile Rails-to-Trails system that you can access from our doorstep for hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding and snowmobiling. To the West, we provide lodging and meals to skiers visiting the Elk Mountain Ski Resort, and cater to customers that fish, kayak and canoe on Belmont Lake, a 172-acre impoundment owned by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and managed by the Fish and Boat Commission for public fishing and boating.
Lodging Style and Amenities
The Lodge is a 3 story, historical inn with 12 rooms available for overnight guests, all with private baths. Four of those rooms have private entrances and are pet friendly (dogs only). During warmer months, guests can enjoy meals in our outdoor dining pavilion that is attached to the back of the Lodge. Three miles from the Lodge, we have a lakefront chalet and a lakefront cottage available. Pictures of our rooms and cottages can be seen and reserved on our website: www.palakewoodlodge.com
