Your experienced AMC Trails Crew Leaders will provide training and supervision for your volunteer crew. This program is open to all 18 and over, and ideal for those new to trail work. Projects may include clearing drainage ditches, brushing back vegetation, hardening trails with gravel, constructing bog bridges, or building rock stairs or drainage structures.
We will head out each day to our project with an up to two-mile hike in to the project site from the trail head. The crew will work four days during the week, (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday) averaging 6-8 hours/day in the field, with Wednesday free for enjoying the area.
While at the Mohican Outdoor Center, the crew will stay in one of the comfortable lodges; a large group cabin with ample room for our 11 person crew. There are multiple bedrooms for sleeping accommodations, restrooms and showers, and a full kitchen where the group will prepare and share meals. After dinner clean-up each day, the crew can relax, go for a hike, enjoy the stunning views or read a good book.
