hello Rachel my name is nick Pierro just subscribed to news letter . I have a shore home in north wildwood and have been building up my native garden, I have south south east, northern exposure with different variables of sun, shade and moisture giving me a lot of diversity. recently put in swamp milk weed and that has really brought in the monarchs and caterpillars. would like to develop that further with more types of milkweed and have grown from seed some butterfly weed but my growing is limited and would prefere some established plants. people are starting to take notice and don’t know much about these plant on the island, except by the Hereford light house. Recently planted some big blue stem and of course the seaside golden rod has found a place, lupine, coneflower, coral honeysuckle, maximailian sunflower beebalm, little lanterns columbine, aster, beach plum but I'm looking for more specimens that aren't as common but hopefully will do well for pollinators and butterfly. I am on southwest corner for afternoon sun the north side get a nice early morning sun /afternoon partialshade. I am two long blocks from the beach dunes, It can pretty get windy and I need to have some natural type of wind screen. so I was hoping to get to your open house or to Princeton where I might get to have a better idea of what to plant and discuss options. looking to get direction thank you.
