The Auction House is located in the 5,000 square foot Annex of Castle Inn. The Auction House sells antiques and vintage articles from local consigners and local estates. There is an ever changing display of jewelry, furniture, collectibles, coins, books, toys, silver, crystal, etc. There is always something to pique the interest. Most items are for sale throughout the month as well as entered in the monthly bid board auction. If you choose not to purchase "the object of your desire" at the moment, you can wait until the second Sunday of the month for the live auction to take your chances against other bidders.
Cathy Brigati is the sole proprietor and gracious lady who makes everyone feel at home. No wonder the Auction House is a local hangout, whether town folk stop by to see how an item they have consigned is doing on the bidding card, or stop by to chat and exchange news of the day, or to check out what new and wonderful items have just come in. Tourists to the Delaware River who are lucky enough to learn about the Castle, come visit the Auction House and leave with a big smile and a package tucked under their arm, a souvenir of a bygone era, a souvenir of their visit to Delaware Water Gap.
Recently, the Auction House has carved a corner for a cafe, so that neighbors and visitors can sit for a meal, surrounded by antiques and atmosphere.
