The Cab Calloway Orchestra

Based at the exclusive Cotton Club in Harlem in the 30s and 40s, the original Cab Calloway Orchestra was one of the most important jazz bands in America. Perhaps you remember Cab’s performance of “Minnie the Moocher” in the film The Blues Brothers. Who can forget the famous repetition in that song of the words “Hi-De-Ho” as sung by Cab Calloway, and now performed by his grandson Christopher Calloway Brooks? Expect a smashing, energetic performance by Christopher as both vocalist and leader of his own great jazz orchestra, clad in a shiny “zoot suit,” dancing and singing his heart out. It will be a fun concert where you can hum along with the Swing Era songs.

Saturday performances are at 6pm. Seating area opens at approximately 5pm on a first-come basis.
