Whitewater Recreation on the Upper Delaware River - Skinners Falls, NY

The Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River is a National Park that abounds with eagles soaring overhead and clear waters running through the river valley. The National Park is full of a wide variety of things to do including, whitewater rafting, kayaking, canoeing and tubing, along with hiking trails. Route 97 is an awesome place for bikers who like to be challenged by hills but will be rewarded by scenic views of the Delaware River. There are riverside camping and of course fishing for the avid fisherman.

Water-based recreation begins in April, with an exciting spring season of winter run-offs that continue on through the summer where warmer waters prevail and into the fall, which ends Columbus Day with magnificent fall foliage. 

Access Points

There are many access points along the Upper Delaware River. The most popular location and river access is Skinners Falls. Throughout the summer many river users enjoy hanging out on the rocks along side of Skinners, just relaxing or tubing.

Pets are loved in the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River, provided they are kept on a leash.
